Comics Code Authority

Koden från den 26 oktober 1954 omfattar två delar, en för redaktionellt material samt en för annonsmaterial. SerieWikin som ges ut av Seriefrämjandet har listat några av reglerna:

"Crimes shall never be presented in such a way as to create sympathy for the criminal, to promote distrust of the forces of law and justice, or to inspire others with a desire to imitate criminals." [General Standards A:1]

"In every instance good shall triumph over evil and the criminal be punished for his misdeeds." [General Standards A:6]

"Scenes of excessive violence shall be prohibited. Scenes of brutal torture, excessive and unnecessary knife and gun play, physical agony, gory and gruesome crime shall be eliminated." [General Standards A:7]

"No comic magazine shall use the word horror or terror in its title." [General Standards B:1]

"All lurid, unsavory, gruesome illustrations shall be eliminated" [General Standards B:3]

"Scenes dealing with, or instruments associated with walking dead, torture, vampires and vampirism, ghouls, cannibalism and werewolfism are prohibited." [General Standards B:5]

"Ridicule or attack on any religious or racial group is never permissable." [General Standards C:Religion:1]

"Nudity in any form is prohibited, as is indecent and undue exposure." [General Standards C:Costume:1]

"Females shall be drawn realistically without exaggeration of any phyiscal qualities." [General Standards C:Costume:4]

"Divorce shall not be treated humorously nor protrayed as desirable." [General Standards C:Marriage and Sex:1]

"Passion or romantic interest shall never be treated in such a way as to stimulate the lower and baser emotions." [General Standards C:Marriage and Sex:5]

"Advertisements of sex or sex instruction books are unacceptable." [Code for advertising matter:2]

"Advertising for the sale of knives, concealable weapons, or realistic gun facsimiles is prohibited." [Code for advertising matter:4]

Kan det finnas någon tidskrift som följt dessa regler och som fortfarande existerar med undantag för Bamse?
Oanständigheter och smaklösheter är snarare hörnpelare för all seriekultur förutan inte många rutor skulle göras.
